Oh how I like Summer...

Well a few days ago, I finally went to see "500 Days of Summer." I was amazed at how interesting the movie was for a romantic comedy. It had my attention just like the first time I saw "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind." The good thing about this movie, is how the casting director chose small role actors in Hollywood to be the stars of the movie. Many are wondering what the movie is about.

In the trailers it states "This is a story of boy meets girl. The boy, Tom Hanson, grew up believing that he'd never be truly happy until the day he met the one. The girl, Summer Finn, did not share this belief. You should know upfront, THIS IS NOT A LOVE STORY." I don't wanna say much because I have the tendency to just go ahead and spoil the movie to all the people who has not see it.

Check out the trailer:

Watching the movie, brought me back some memories of girl(s) who made me go through the same feelings as the character in the movie. When I saw "Eternal Sunshine..." I really wished that a procedure to delete memory existed to wipe out the memory & feelings I had toward an individual. While watching "500 Days..." I really felt that I have not been the only one who had experience the same pains as Tom Hanson.

I believe all guys go through this and it's ok, because I believe that it happens when you approach a girl with you guard down. I has happen to me and my close friends. But I believe that it's an experience in which we can learn to grow up and know how approach things the next time around. Later I'm going to talk about a theory that I have been sharing with people (I don't like to say I came up with it) and so far it has not fail me.

It's been a while...

This is my first post in a while... 3 weeks to be exact. Well today was a memorial day for what happen 8 years ago (and no, not the release of Jay-Z album "The Blueprint"), The New York Attack on the Twin Towers. It is unfortunate that such a tragedy has change the "American" lifestyle. I don't have much to say but that the people that lost their lives, you will be remembered.

What's up with the weather??

I know it's still summer, but what is up with this inferno heat. I'm in Downtown LA and it's 91 degrees!!! It's not the heat but the humidity that is killing me and other Angelenos. I can't imagine the people who live in the valley and desert are going through. I'm drinking so much water and sweating it out that I haven't been in the bathroom for the past 6 hours. The last time I felt like this was when I was on the Warped Tour. So how do I keep myself cool? Listening to reggae!

I opened my itunes and searched for all the reggae music I have in my library. You wouldn't believe all of the old school reggae groups I had. They ranged from Bob Marley to Toots & the Maytals to Lee 'Scratch' Perry to The Specials and Hepcat. But I've also been listening to some uprising "new" reggae bands who are bringing back that old school sound and blending it with a little bit of their own. For example, The Aggrolites has branded their own version of this "new" reggae by calling it Dirty Reggae. The Aggrolites are a bunch of cool guys because they were formed in LA and come from different backgrounds. I was also fortunate to hang out with them last year and because I got along with the band and helped them out during our days off, they unofficially named me their SIXTH MEMBER.

Another band I've been listening to is Westbound Train. I've heard of them about 3 years ago. When I heard they were going to be on the Warped Tour this year, I decided to get the latest album (titled Come and Get It). There is this song, "Check Your Time," which I believe will remind everyone of that time that you felt down because of a girl, guy, friend, etc. that left you but needed that lift to live through the pain. It's a good song. When I went to San Diego Warped Tour show, we went to check them out and my buddy, who is into Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and the Beatles, really enjoyed the band's set list but said that the song that made him like the band was "Check Your Time." Even the front of house for the stage Westbound Played throughout the tour said that the song hits him all the way into his soul.

I really recommend to listen to these songs from the respective bands mentioned above and trust me, you won't be disappointed.

TGIFunday??

First off, I'm more relaxed when I was able to switch my hot iPhone for a chill iPhone. Thank you The Grove's Apple Store.

This Friday was a good Friday because it was Pay Day. Besides that everything was chill plus I even got myself $1 ice cream scope around the corner where I work.

I don't have much to say, so on that note I'll leave you with the new single from Weezer "(If You're Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To." Unfortunately you need to click on the link to listen to the song. But you'll like it.

iPhone 3GS, why me??

So I was happy when I got my iphone 3GS about a month and a half ago. When I had the gadget in my hands, it felt great having the phone that I was familiar with. Downloaded a few apps(compare to other people I know) which I enjoyed, either games or other entertaining apps. The camera feature is great (besides not having a flash), but at least I can finally record videos.

But recently, I've been having problems with the iPhone. It is overheating and the battery life is shorter than usual. I went to the Apple Store and the "Geniuses" (or the "idiots" as they should be named) told me that the problem is unusual, because they have not received any other complaints from iPhone owners, and that the only recommendation is to restore the phone. If the problem persist in a week, then they will be able to exchange my phone. I left the store bewildered and it took me a while to realize, A WEEK!?!?! IS THIS GUY CRAZY!?!? So I said "ok he's a 'Genius' and he knows what he's saying."
Well yesterday my phone was so hot in my pocket. Even one of my buddy recommended that it get's too hot that I should have some tortillas and crema to make myself some pocket tacos. So I'm going to give it another shot and go to a different Apple Store. Hopefully I have a better luck, and I will try to demand to switch it up or they will see the Mexicano in me.

(This is a picture of a iPhone, right, after it overheated and burned the back case)

Welcome

Well after reading and looking at some of the blogs I see out in the WWW (world wide web), I decided to finally join the blogging world, not as a member of a forum or a person that comments on post, but I decided to be the person blogging about things I encounter with. These could be places I've visited, situations I stumble upon (personal or other members of this society) and other random thoughts. This is the reason why I decided to call my blog The Unlucky Stunts; it could go well as planned or it can just miss and take me on a wipeout.

That's the introduction and all I have to say for now. I hope everyone, including myself, enjoys this site and don't hold back on any comments. For christ sake (not being religious), it's the internet.
